Responsibilities
Police Inspectors are mainly deployed to manage and supervise a team of police officers. They maintain law and order, prevent and investigate crimes, and handle queries from the public. They examine crime scenes to searching for clues and evidence, observe the activities of suspects, analyse evidence in order to identify criminal activity and gather information for court cases. They also prepare reports on progress of investigation, maintaining informational files on suspects, and submit reports to apply for arrests or warrants. They will be subject to discipline under the Police Force Ordinance.
Basic qualification requirements
Academic requirements
A bachelor's degree; or diploma/ higher diploma/ associate degree; or attained Level 3 in 5 subjects in the Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSEE)
