Deck Officers (Maritime) navigate and command ships and vessels and perform related functions on ships. They comprise a family of occupations namely 3rd Officer, 2nd Officer and Chief Officer.

A higher diploma in maritime studies or equivalent is usually required
Work experience
Sufficient sea-time experience

Professional knowledge and skills in maritime services
