Responsibilities

Assistant Leisure & Cultural Officers organise sport and cultural activities. (For the post of Assistant Leisure Services Managers II, they will be required to manage and organise sport activities for a recreational venue. ) They are responsible for organising cultural activities; acting as front-line manager in supervising venue staff and part-time staff in daily management and operation of leisure facilities, and running of recreation and sports programmes; assisting in evaluation of organised recreation and sports programmes, and promotion of higher venue usage rate; assisting in monitoring the performance of service and concessionary contractors; assisting in the preparation of financial and other routine returns; liaising with and providing assistance to clubs and associations in the organisation of recreation and sports programmes; attending meetings of mutual aid committees, local sports bodies, voluntary agencies, etc.; assisting in identifying shortfalls and ascertaining district's needs for leisure services provision; answering public enquiries and dealing with complaints in respect of leisure services provision; taking legal enforcement actions in connection with leisure services management.

Basic qualification requirements
Academic requirements
usually have a higher diploma/ bachelor's degree in recreation management or relevant discipline
Industry specific capabilities
Operation and management knowledge of leisure and cultural facilities
