Hospital & Clinic Assistants
Hospital & Clinic Assistants provide day-to-day logistical and administrative assistance to a medical clinic or hospital unit. They have to triage patients and schedule appointments; screen and transfer phone calls, and communicate and interact with patients. They also provide clerical support to the unit, and assist with clinical and/ or laboratory procedures as required. They are responsible for taking and recording patients' vital signs, as appropriate to clinic operations; instructing patients as needed regarding administrative and/ or logistical procedures; obtaining patient histories, and insurance approvals as appropriate; arranging for prescribed laboratory tests, specialist referrals, and/ or diagnostic procedures; ordering and maintaining inventories of supplies; assisting in maintaining the cleanliness and serviceability of unit facilities and equipment.
Usually have secondary 5 or above education level; completion of Care-related Support Worker (CRSW) courses is preferable
