Responsibilities

Town Planners develop and implement plans and policies for the use of urban and rural land that can accommodate population growth and revitalise physical facilities in cities. They conduct research and study economic, environmental and social factors which affect land use.

Academic requirements
normally have a bachelor's degree in town planning
Work experience
mid- and senior-level planner positions usually require 5 to 8 years of work experience in planning, or in a specific planning specialty
