"Your Dream Home" BIM Competition 2024

Building Information Modelling (BIM) is an emerging construction technology that is widely applied in the Construction Industry. BIM technology effectively enhances productivity and safety standards of the industry, facilitates effective cost control of construction projects, optimises building design, improves coordination and reduces construction waste. BIM can accelerate the progress of construction projects and allow efficient operation and maintenance of buildings.

"Your Dream Home" BIM Competition 2024 aims at enabling secondary school students to understand the functions of BIM in various fields of the Construction Industry and to keep abreast of the latest development of the industries, so as to arousing their interest in joining the industry in the future. The Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) is organising a series of BIM training workshops and sharing sessions by industry experts in October to equip students with knowledge and skills in BIM, and its applications in architectural design, interior design, landscape design and sustainable building design. 

The competition will be held on 16 November 2024 (Saturday) at IVE (Tsing Yi) campus. Winning Teams of the competition will receive up to HK$6,000 cash vouchers, medals and award certificates. They will also be offered the opportunities to visit the renowned construction company in Hong Kong and to participate in the taster courses offered by IVE. A trophy will be presented to the school of the winning teams at the awards presentation ceremony.
